Art Connects New York (ACNY) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that believes the visual arts have a unique ability to connect people, and inspire insight into ourselves and the world around us. We use the power of art to affirm the human spirit and help make New York a more welcoming, expansive city.

With curators and donor artists, ACNY creates permanent exhibitions of work by New York City-based artists in public areas of the city's social service agencies. Our unique mission enables us to:
  • Create opportunities for NYC-based visual artists to show their work outside traditional galleries
  • Provide curators a chance to design exhibitions that bridge the divide between the "Art World" and the "Real World"
  • Provide access to fine artwork in spaces where the  opportunity for inspiration, transformation, and contemplation are especially helpful
  • Support the efforts of recipient agencies to fulfill their missions
Art Connects New York also runs Spattered Columns Exhibition Space, a venue for NYC-based artists and curators without commercial gallery representation and houses the archives of artist William S. Dutterer.
