ART CONNECTS NEW YORK
Art Connects New York (ACNY) believes art and arts professionals have a unique ability to interpret the world, connect people and inspire insight into ourselves and the world around us. We harness the transformative power of art to affirm the human spirit and make New York a more welcoming, expansive city.
ACNY creates professionally curated collections of donated, original art by New York artists for New York City’s social service agencies and nonprofit organizations. These collections are permanently installed in the offices and facilities of recipient agencies and organizations.
In doing so, we:
- Create opportunities for visual artists working in NYC to exhibit their work.
- Give curators opportunities to use their professional skills to bridge diverse communities.
- Provide access to original art for clients and staff of agencies and organizations, some of whom have little or no access to art.
- Enhance the ability of social service agencies to fulfill their missions and improve their environments.
ACNY places art in areas where it can spark conversation and provide insight - channeling the dynamic power of New York’s creative community to improve, expand, and enrich lives.
